Vision Problem: Compound Myopic Astigmatism
Procedure: FemtoLASIK and PSP Program
Dr. Angelo Appiotti performed FemtoLASIK surgery in combination with the PSP program (Personal Sportsman Profile), an athlete specific program designed to achieve superior and, above all, stable vision, with fast and accurate eye movements at every change of distance and light.
Manuel successfully underwent surgery to treat the compound myopic astigmatism he had in both eyes. Surgery eliminated the athlete’s dependence on contact lenses. In a sport like ice hockey where quick sprints, tackles and falls are the rule, wearing contact lenses was not only detrimental to the athlete’s performance, but also extremely annoying.
Final refractive outcome: 20/10 visual acuity.
