Dr. Angelo Appiotti performed ReLEx SMILE surgery with the aid of the PSP (Personal Sportsman Profile) programme, that he devised for professional athletes to improve one’s vision and, most importantly, make it more stable, accurate and faster at every change in distance and light.
The ReLEX Smile surgical intervention corrected a complex refractive error in both the athlete’s eyes, significantly impairing his sports performance. He did not tolerate his toric contact lenses anymore because they constantly moved when he blinked or during fast movements like jumps or sprints, causing blurred vision, postural and visual uncertainty and also poor eye-hand and eye-foot coordination.
The surgery was successful and allowed Gabriel to eliminate contact lenses permanently.
The final result was 16/10 natural visual acuity.
